SAIC seeks a highly experienced and energetic Technical Writer to support the US Space Force with mission system modernization, meeting mission requirements, providing new capabilities, and supporting the USSF mission . 

In support of the government customer, the SAIC Program Manager, and the Chief Engineer, the Sr. Technical Writer is responsible for c oordinating writing, graphics development, reviewing, editing, and production of all documentation developed by the transformation team.

Job Description: 

• Development of business process and enterprise solution descriptions, recommendations, plans, tasks, activities, cost estimates, risks, and alternatives. 

• Ensures timely delivery of high-quality documentation with full technical and format compliance with program standards.

• Coordinates with subject matter experts to enable efficient documentation that drives full stakeholder understanding and leadership decision-making processes.

• Writes and/or edits complex engineering specifications, user manuals, reports, briefings and presentations, guidelines, and other project deliverables to meet contract requirements

• Develops, revises, and produces technical orders’ change pages. Reviews content of technical documentation for quality

• Ensures proper application of applicable government standards and guidelines for technical writing

Qualifications

Required Education:

Bachelor's and 6 years of experience; or a Master's and 4 years of experience.  

Required Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in related field and 5+ years’ experience

• Active Secret c learance

• Gather and interpret complex technical information for technical and non-technical audiences

• Excellent organizational skills and a high level of interpersonal skills mandatory

• Must be a self-motivated team player with demonstrated ability to manage projects, tasks, and special assignments independently

• Manage documentation tasks for multiple products simultaneously

• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment with minimal supervision

Desired Qualifications: 

• Experience working with agile teams and methodologies

• Experience modifying systems in a DoD environment

• Experience working with CAD programs, hardware drawings, and BOMs

Clearance: 

• Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance. 

Target salary range: $100,001 - $125,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.

Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
