Location: Woburn, Boston

Salary: $1000/week for a 12 week contract

Contract: 12 week contract

Reporting to:  Lead Cryogenics Engineer

Your role in the mission:

 

The cryogenics program at Type One Energy supports cryogenics needs across the organization including various design, testing, commissioning, and operational aspects of the High Temperature Superconductor (HTS) Magnet Program and our Infinity One Program. Any successful candidate will be provided the opportunity to contribute to all these efforts.

The cryogenics intern will be introduced to thermodynamic, fluid flow, and heat transfer analyses. Reporting into our Lead Cryogenic Engineer, you will support the sizing and designing of various cryogenic systems as required.

 

Perform thermodynamics calculations for sizing the capacity of the RRP cryoplant, and the Magnet Program’s cryogenics systems.

Perform heat transfer and fluid flow analysis towards the design of the cryogenic distribution systems.

Use the analyses performed to provide insight into the design of the RRP and the HTS magnets.

Collaborate with other groups to engineer the interfaces between the cryogenic systems and other related stellarator systems.

Create and maintain appropriate documentation in terms of memos, presentations, and other forms as appropriate.

Contribute to creating a collaborative working environment.
