The Department of Otolaryngology is currently seeking a full time Financial Analyst to work in Miami, FL. The Financial Analyst compiles and analyzes financial information for the assigned division(s)/department(s) in an efficient and accurate manner. Moreover, the incumbent assists management in the decision-making process and strategic planning by presenting relevant financial reports in a clear, concise, and timely manner.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Prepares and coordinates documentation of financial analysis projects such as budgets, forecasts, projections, expense performance, and presentations.
2. Identifies trends and developments in competitive environments and presents findings.
3. Provides analytical support for forward-looking financial or business-related projects.
4. Performs financial forecasting and reconciliation of accounts.
5. Designs and builds various models that summarize several different scenarios around growth and expansion initiatives or opportunities.
6. Develops and maintains performance and productivity dashboards, models or analyses.
7. Collects, interprets and analyzes relevant data or metrics.
8. May develop and maintain reports to support plans, business decisions, operational changes, strategic plans and new services. Resolves any reporting issues.
9. Makes recommendations to align policies and procedures with best practices and capitalize on financial opportunities.
10. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
Experience:
Minimum 1 year of relevant experience
Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting procedures and principles.
Knowledge of budget control methods, policies, and procedures.
Ability to prepare financial and accounting records.
Ability to analyze, consolidate, and interpret accounting data.
Ability to compile, organize, interpret, and communicate accounting data and results concisely.
Ability to manage a budget and work within the constraints of that budget.

Oversee the Employee Compensation Compliance (ECC) system on a monthly or quarterly basis. Review with each PI for any updates/corrections needed before employee certification.
Maintain the ENT Payroll Distribution Tracking Sheet on sponsored grants for each PI and their staff. Reconcile with corresponding budgets and make changes/corrections on costing allocations as well as salary journals (PAA) for prior payrolls.
Submit costing allocations and PAA for corrections of prior payroll for all faculty and staff as needed.
