The ISU Pappajohn Center for Entrepreneurship is seeking a marketing and social media professional to manage marketing, social media, digital and print communications, and the centerâs website. As a Marketing Specialist II , you will also have the opportunity to participate in the centerâs outreach and program events and activities.
The Pappajohn Center, including CyBIZ Lab, CYstarters, and ISU Startup Factory, serves students and faculty in all disciplines across campus, collaborates within the ISU economic development umbrella, and partners with four other Pappajohn Entrepreneur Centers and many programs in the Iowa Startup Ecosystem.Â
Sharing entrepreneur stories, promoting programs and events, and highlighting program successes is a primary function of this position.Â
The individual in this position will:
Create and execute successful marketing campaigns across various platforms.
Manage websites and social media profiles using WordPress, Drupal, Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
Update website content, registrations, notifications, and event details.
Lead the transition to a new website in 2024-2025, ensuring content relevance and strategic organization.
Handle list management and distribution of students, clients, mentors, speakers, program attendees, partners, and other stakeholders, using programs such as MailChimp and listserves.
Design digital and print marketing materials, including posters, banners, and event signage.
Utilize social media and website to recruit program participants, monitor and manage digital analytics, and track metrics.
Design and edit graphics, photography and video content for website, marketing materials, and social media using Canva and Adobe Creative Suite.
Collaborate on the annual Impact Report with the Communications Specialist .
Learn and adhere to the universityâs brand and trademark policies and procedures.
Attend the Centerâs programs and events to capture award photos and video, and communicate outcomes via website and social media. Some programs and events occur outside of regular business hours.
Perform outreach activities such as student orientations, class visits, business conferences, and community events.
A successful candidate will have strong experience in marketing, managing business social media accounts and associated analytics, developing and managing web content, graphic design, writing, and public communications . Familiarity with a university entrepreneurship center or small business programs and ventures are a plus.
