Ophthalmic/ Optometry Technician/(Murrieta)
compensation: based on experience
Employment type: full-time

Successful Ophthalmology practice in the Murrieta area has an immediate opening for an experienced Ophthalmic/Optometry Technician. We are currently seeking an outgoing, and energetic individual who can multi-task and who is attentive to details.

Skills and Qualifications:
- Obtain and record accurate patient history, chief complaint and scribes physician's findings via Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- Perform lensometry and auto refraction
- Perform diagnostic testing of the eyes, knowledge of tests such as HVF, OCT, IOL Master, LenStar, and fundus photography
- Obtain accurate visual acuities Perform functional ocular measurements of the eye such as color vision testing, BAT testing, and Amsler Grid tests
- Administer topical ophthalmic medications
- Perform accurate tonometry by applanation
- Maintain and sterilize surgical instruments
- Verbalize pre and post-operative instructions in a clear and professional manner to patients for any procedure performed
- Understand ocular pharmacology: names of meds and their uses
- Communicate with patients directly or via telephone to respond appropriately and professionally to their needs.
- Communicate. with pharmacies and/or referring doctor's offices via electronically or telephone to respond appropriately and professionally to their needs.
- Bilingual preferred
- EMR experience preferred
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary: $ 19.00 21.00 Per Hour
