Position Summary

The Clinical PACS Analyst I is responsible for the daily operations, system maintenance, and support of the Picture Archiving Communications System (PACS). These responsibilities include but are not limited to supporting the Radiology Information System (RIS), Computed Radiography (CR), Digital Radiography (DR), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR), Sonography (US), Bone Densitometry (BD), Fluoroscopy (RF), Arthroscopy (ES), and Microscopy (GM) and any other acquisition devices within the PACS environment. The Clinical PACS Analyst I is responsible for supporting PACS and RIS operations for the hospital in the clinical environment through the OR. 24/7 On-Call Support Availability.

Essential Job Functions/Accountabilities

Support clinical staff and providers in the ambulatory clinic setting through the OR environment. Support and train providers on Templating Software and Equipment. Manages templating libraries and updates them regularly for physicians. Maintains/Builds managed worklists within the PACS environment for providers.

Monitors production workflow from order generation to PACS archival/disposition. Oversees the integrity of PACS data via support software.

Support Clinical staff, providers, and patients with image sharing to and from the organization.

Provides education and training to the user community for RIS and PACS applications and workflow processes. Trains technologists on scoliosis and long leg image capture as well as routine positioning and imaging. Radiology equipment "Super user" status.

Sets up new modalities/equipment to communicate with PACS. Supports all imaging modalities inclusive of but not limited to CR, DR, MR, ES, RF, CT, GM, BD, and US.

Constructs testing plans to bring new hardware and software on line for PACS assuring clinical user operability success.

Manages equipment service logs. Evaluates efficacy of new imaging software upgrades, coordinates and QA installation with strategic partners.


Assists in the implementation of application/updates for PACS.

All other duties not specifically assigned.

Position Requirements

Education: Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology required; BS or BA preferred.

Experience: Minimum two (2) years Radiology Technologist experience in a clinical setting; Three (3) to Five (5) years of demonstrated experience in field or profession preferred.


Technical Skills: Competent in the use of Microsoft Office applications, Data Import tools inclusive of DICOM and non-DICOM images and Remote Support for end users. QC/QA standards for Image Data; image segmentation at the exam and series level; Microsoft Desktop OS and Java. Competent in OR sterile procedure processes to assist users as needed in the OR setting. PACS Functionality, Radiology Processes, and workflow to include image archival to Carestream.


Certifications/Licenses/Registrations: Certified ARRT and Ohio Department of Health Licensure; BLS required. Expected to acquire CIIP Certification in 2 years.
