Job description

The YMCA of Northern Colorado is seeking an overnight Program Aide to guide campers through an extraordinarily memorable summer at Tumbleson Lake, a camp nestled in the heart of the Rocky Mountains near Boulder, Colorado.

 

We are looking for enthusiastic, outdoors-loving individuals who are passionate about connecting children to the natural world, helping children try new activities and persevere through challenges. The Program Aide will help create a community of respect, acceptance and caring for campers. When campers depart Tumbleson Lake each day, the Program Aide will stay overnight and prepare for the next day of camp fun!

 

Pay Rate:  $15.69 per hour. This position is exempt-hourly, meaning you will be paid your hourly rate for all hours worked. Hours over 40 per week or 12 hours per day are not subject to time and half overtime pay. The overnight Program Aide position requires you to live at camp. Room and board are included. Shifts run from 7:00am and 5:30pm M-F. This position is seasonal: June 3rd-Aug 9th. Training for this role begins: June 3rd.

 

  1. Must be a minimum of 16 years old.
  2. Knowledge of age-appropriate practices and experience working with children, preferably school aged.
  3. Applicants must be committed to being a positive role model with youth.
  4. Maturity to make practical decisions under the direct supervision of other staff.
  5. Ability to work well in a team, communicate easily with youth and colleagues.
  6. Bilingual preferred, not require.
  7. Applicants must be committed to implementing YMCA programming and fun.
  8. Provide documentation of 480 hours of experience working directly with school-age children in such areas as Sunday school, Scouts, sports, or babysitting.
  9. Become certified or supply documentation of current certification in CPR and First Aid (can be completed through the YMCA).

All Employees  receive a free individual membership and anyone working 10+ hours receive a free family membership, 50-100% off our programs and if eligible, we contribute the equivalent of 10% of your salary to the  YMCA Retirement Fund .

Part-Time employees also receive paid sick time of 1 hour for every 30 hours worked.

 

Seasonal Employees Living at Camp Tumbleson also receive room and board while employed at camp.
