Job description
The K2 Medical Research Internship Program gives high school seniors and college students the opportunity to participate in both research and clinical patient care. This unpaid program is designed to provide clinical research educational experience, training to gain research-related skills, and exposure to an acute clinical setting.
PROGRAM
- Participants will be required to attend on-site orientation and training.
- Students have the opportunity to observe shadow clinical research professionals.
- Students will be under the supervision of the Associate Director of Clinical Training and Education. The Associate Director will try to place each participant with a mentor in an area of his/her interest, if available.
- Students may attend study related training sessions hosted by department leaders to discuss various topics.
- Interact with Principal Investigators and other departments by attending program exclusive lectures, trainings, workshops, and more.
REQUIREMENTS
- The Internship Program is limited to U.S. citizens (or persons having U.S. Permanent Resident status).
- Applying students must either be a high school senior with a GPA greater than 2.5 or an undergraduate student at an accredited U.S. college or university with a GPA greater than 2.5.
- Unofficial transcript must be turned in.
- Applying students should have a strong desire to pursue clinical research or the medical field.
- Students should not miss more than one scheduled day during the length of the program.
- Students must commit to the following events:
- Mandatory orientation for Interns
- Research compliance education seminar

- If selected to proceed, candidates will be contacted to participate in a brief interview to better explain expectations and objectives.
