JD:
The Human Factors engineer performs human factors activities like usability and ergonomics for product development programs by planning and executing programs
-Human factors activities based on user-cantered design principles and customer needs.
• Conducts user research to understand user needs, mental models and working context.
• Works with Senior Designers and product owners to understand market needs & vision; work with teams to quickly translate that vision into workflows, interactions, and designs for software.
• Observe the patterns of use and the physical usage environment, document and map workflows
• Analyze user groups, patient populations, use scenarios, use environments, and capture in Use Analysis Reports
• Lead UX requirement definition sessions and design thinking workshops
• Lead UFEMA activities
• Responsible for Usability related activities and documentation for software development programs
• Conducts Formative and Summative studies.
• Work with software engineers in an Agile environment utilizing the latest UX methods, such as Google Design sprints, collaborative design, service design, informal and formal testing, and rapid prototyping
• Experience with Medical Devices
• Identify and analyze Known Use Problems (KUPA) and / or Usability of Unknown Provenance (UOUP) along with documentation for planned mitigations
• Identify use-based hazards and document recommended actions, prioritizing these based on safety risk
• Conduct usability studies (formative testing, summative testing), validation testing with intended users and help optimize product design
