Summary
Riverfront Children's Center has an exciting leadership opportunity for an energetic, organized, experienced and inspiring professional to join us as
Business Manager. Riverfront Children's Center is a non-profit early care and education center, offering a developmentally appropriate, play-based curriculum following the CT Office of Early Childhood Early Learning Developmental Standards. The Business Manager is an integral part of the Admin team.
Duties - Office management, including greeting and directing visitors, answering and directing phone calls, entering and correcting daily entry of child attendance records, filing staff and child records, creating new staff files, and maintain file of forms to copy and
- distribute, as needed.
- Work in partnership with the Executive Director to manage the financial affairs of the agency, including the planning, development and preparation of the budget; overseeing the annual audit and assist in the oversight of retirement and insurance plans.
- Facilitate timely payment of tuition; work with families to resolve challenges and make adjustments in payment schedules, as needed.
- Determine parent fees and allocate tuition assistance and maintain files relating to fee collection and spend down of tuition scholarships and grants.
- Manage the Fixed Asset Log
- Manage accounts receivable and payable by processing all income and expenses through the Smart Care and QuickBooks databases; maintain databases and prepare requested statistical and financial reports; prepare bank deposits, ensuring proper coding to correct receivable or income account.
- Manage General Ledger ensuring postings are up to date and error free.
- Manage Payroll from set up of new employees to maintaining work records, including allocation of vacation and PTO.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements - Proficient in Quickbooks
- Bachelor?s degree in accounting or related field. or equivalent in education and experience.
- 2+ years of experience, preferably in a nonprofit organization.
- Ability to flourish in a dynamic environment.
- Comfort with MS Office suite, especially Microsoft Excel
- Detail-oriented and analytical individual with excellent computer skills.
- Work collaboratively with an Admin team on fiscal questions and understanding
- Focus on process.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Commitment to providing excellent customer service.
- Experience with banking platforms and donor management systems is a plus.
