DIRECTOR OF ADVOCATE – INNOVATIVE HIGH SCHOOL EDUCATION MODEL

Are you a visionary leader with a passion for revolutionizing high school education? Omaha Street School, a Christ-centered alternative high school dedicated to serving at-risk students with significant academic deficiencies, seeks a qualified Director of Advocate to spearhead our groundbreaking initiative, shaping the future of learning for the next generation. In this pivotal role, you will lead our innovative learning program designed to ignite the potential of each student through four customizable tracks: Vocational – work-based learning, College Bound, Academic Recovery, and Entrepreneurship.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Program Leadership: Provide strategic direction and oversight for the Advocate program, ensuring it aligns with Omaha Street School’s mission and values.
- Curriculum Development and Delivery: Work collaboratively with staff to develop engaging and Nebraska academic standards-aligned learning experiences within each of the four Advocate program tracks.
- Partnership Building: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with community partners, businesses, and colleges to provide real-world learning opportunities and post-graduation pathways for students.
- Student Mentoring and Advocacy: Act as a dedicated mentor and advocate for each student, supporting their academic, social, and emotional well-being.
- Professional Development: Continuously improve your own skills and knowledge by participating in professional development opportunities related to alternative education, work-based learning, and career & technical education.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Monitor student progress and program effectiveness, collecting and analyzing data to inform curriculum and program improvements.
- Collaboration and Communication: Foster a collaborative and supportive environment among staff, families, and community partners.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in education, integrated curriculum development skills, or equivalent experience.
- Valid Nebraska teaching certification.
- Proven experience in leading and implementing alternative education programs, ideally with a focus on work-based learning and career & technical education.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement individualized learning plans.
- Experience in building and maintaining strong relationships with community partners, businesses, and colleges.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- A passion for Jesus Christ and a commitment to serving the underserved.
