This position is Limited Term (12 Months); it may become permanent, be extended, or be cancelled at any time.

This is a remote-centered telework position that will telework 80% of time. A teleworker is considered Remote-centered if they work fifty percent (50%) or more of their time from an alternate work location.
Under direction of the Chief of Investigations, Underground Facilities Safe Excavation Board (Board), a state body that enforces the provisions of the Dig Safe Act of 2016 and makes recommendations for enforcement to the Contractors State License Board, the California Public Utilities Commission, and the Office of the State Fire Marshal, the Staff Services Manager I (Specialist) investigates damage incidents and complaints, interprets and applies applicable laws and excavation practices, develops reports, develops and conducts audits requiring analysis of “call before you dig” data, and serves as an ambassador of the Board in the field performing education and outreach functions. Incident Analysis Specialist establishes and maintains project priorities and identify and quantify time and resources necessary to complete projects and maintain a timeline. Functions of this position are performed in their assigned geographic area.

This position is designated under the Conflict of Interest Code. The position is responsible for making or participating in the making of governmental decisions that may potentially have a material effect on personal financial interests. The appointee is required to complete Form 700 within 30 days of appointment and once per year. Failure to comply with the Conflict of Interest Code requirements may void the appointment.
