Position Summary:
*** Professional and Specialty Solutions (P&SS) is seeking qualified applicants for a Technical Support Specialist (TSS) in Research Triangle Park (RTP), NC. The successful applicant will help manage content for technical databases and provide technical information and support in response to end-user and homeowner questions on *** P&SS products.

Candidates must possess 1-3 years experience.

Activities will involve:
• Providing technical support to the P&SS Business Units: Turf and Ornamental (T&O), Pest Control (PC), and Professional Vegetation Management (ProVM)
• Managing a toll-free Customer Care phone line (immediate answer when feasible) and occasional voice messages to respond by close of the business day (no longer than 24 hrs) to ensure customer satisfaction and success with *** products
• Working closely with Technical Service and/or Sales to learn about *** product attributes, communicate potential issues, and report (monthly) on call activity and resolution
• Monitor project database for data completeness. Communicate progress quarterly
• Manage review and version control of technical collateral stored in various databases, and coordinate/facilitate updates as needed

Required Skills/Experience/Education:
• B.S. (required) in plant science, horticulture, biology, entomology, technology, or similar fields of study
• Experience in efficient activity documentation and report summarization
• Developed interpersonal skills to allow positive and productive interaction with customers and colleagues
• Ethical, trustworthy, professional, and reliable

Desired Characteristics:
• Experience with pest control and/or turf and ornamental plant culture
• Self-starter with demonstrated ability to accomplish objectives and timeline needs
• Customer focused and results driven mindset
• Demonstrated organizational and standard computer skills, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Team orientated, Flexible/adaptable

Qualifications:
• Demonstrated high academic achievement – GPA 3.0
• Authorization to work in the US without restrictions
• Hold a valid driver's license
• Pass contingent contract employee background, motor vehicle, and medical screening checks

Updated Qualifications:
• Plant science background
• Biology or horticulture position, life science background would qualify for this position.
• Customer service position – answering calls incoming (technical) from customers inquiring how to use the products, referring to pesticide labels, should be able to resolve customer questions.
• Help to organize technical database, does not need to have programming experience.
• Candidate will need basic Microsoft experience.
o General office, establishing folders and subfolders are needed.
• Not looking for IT or computer programming experience
• Would consider chemist that had worked with plants and some type of practical chemical knowledge
• Position would answer technical questions from customers on how to correctly use pesticides and chemistries.
• Candidates understanding of general chemistry, pest control, and plant growth, etc would be beneficial.
• Call center experience would be great to have, as long as it is not IT or computer programming.
o IT or computer programming call experience does not seem to be what they are looking for
• Must be in office – must be local candidates
