Job description
General Characteristics
Experienced Lead Developer managing developers and overseeing the technical aspects of a project. Lead is responsible for design, implementation, and maintaining software applications that meet business requirements. A lead developer works with project managers, stakeholders, and team members to identify project goals, de ine timelines, allocate resources, and ensure timely delivery.
Also mentor and train junior developers, review code, conduct quality assurance testing, troubleshoot issues, and stay up to date with emerging technologies. Coordinates systems analysis and applications development activities through direct and indirect sta?. Directs development teams in the areas of scheduling, technical direction, future planning, and standard development practices. Meets scheduled milestones to ensure project/program objectives are met in a timely manner and has an in- depth knowledge of the principles, theories, practices, and techniques for managing the activities related to planning, managing, and implementing systems applications development projects and programs.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or another related ?eld. Or equivalent
work experience.
Experience:
A minimum of 7 years of IT and business work experience including leading developers in systems analysis and/or programming functions.
Complexity:
Lead Web Developer in systems analysis and programming functions. Typically leads and mentor's senior web developers and/or technical sta?. Works under general directions of senior level management.
Frequently reports to a Director, Systems and Programming, Departmental IT Executive or Operating Unit IT Executive.
