We are Secure Community Network (SCN), a nonprofit 501(c)(3) serving as the official safety and security organization of the Jewish community in North America. Here at SCN, we deeply value the team of people that work diligently to commit their lives to action for a better tomorrow and we are excited to add a Regional Director (Region 1 & 2) to our organization.

The Regional Director (RD) will lead, oversee, and support regional and community-based security programs within Region 1 and 2 which includes the states of Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont, New York, New Jersey, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands . The selected candidates can live in any of the identified states. The RD will also actively develop program strategies, implement new community security programs and policies, and provide security consultation, training, assessment coordination, and support to organizations and communities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for the development, deployment, oversight and implementation of SCN Regional Security Advisor (RSA ) and Community Security Director (CSD) programs in the identified region, including the onboarding and mentorship of team members into these positions.
• Responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with local, county, state, and federal law enforcement and emergency management partners in an assigned region.
• Formally respond to community assistance requests focusing on program development.
• Regularly lead various information and planning meetings related to community engagement and security director programs.
• Build relationships with communities, agencies, and Jewish Federation executives.
• Conduct security consultations, assessments, training sessions, tabletop exercises, webinars, donor meetings, law enforcement meetings, and other community engagements to support programs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
• Completion of law enforcement certification from an accredited law enforcement academy or approved United States Military Criminal Investigative or Law Enforcement Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) with at least 10 years of sworn law enforcement experience (candidate is currently sworn law enforcement, retired in good standing, and/or honorably discharged from the military).
• Formal law enforcement leadership experience.
• Dynamic, results-oriented individual with the highest degree of personal integrity and ability to pass criminal, financial, reputational/conduct background checks as identified/approved.
• No criminal record or outstanding criminal charges.
• Ability to obtain a government security clearance of at least a SECRET level.

REQUIRED SKILLS / ABILITIES:

• Excellent leadership and decision-making abilities and verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to effectively work in a dynamic, growing, and fast-paced organization.
• Familiarity with national emergency management interoperability requirements, procedures, and protocols.
• Ability to design, develop, and implement: Emergency Operation Plans, Standard Operating Procedures, organizational policies, and internal and public-facing products.
• Ability to exercise discretion when handling confidential information.
• Ability to make timely decisions in dynamic situations, often lacking complete information.
• Strong presentation design and public speaking skills are a must .
• Extensive travel is an anticipated component of the position.
• Ability to respond to after-hours and emergency requests in a timely fashion.

This position may require 24/7 response capability, both remote and physical, to the community's incidents and other critical needs.
