Job Description The Test Engineer role involves overseeing lab systems, networks, data acquisition, instrumentation, and ensuring compliance with calibration standards. This position is based at our Water Heater Division in Montgomery, Alabama.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and analyze problems related to test cell design and operations.
• Ensure laboratory equipment is calibrated correctly.
• Assist in designing systems for laboratory or production functions.
• Set up products for testing and execute prescribed and specialized tests.
• Investigate and resolve test equipment issues, documenting findings and suggesting improvements to Design Engineering.
• Manage lab data acquisition systems and support test data management.
• Perform other assigned duties.

Qualifications

• Requires advanced theoretical knowledge typically acquired through higher education, often with minimal prior experience.
• Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience, with less than 1 year of relevant experience.
• Experience with test equipment, lab systems, and process controls.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with keen attention to detail.
• Proficiency in relevant software such as MS Office Suite.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Knowledge of instrumentation related to refrigeration and gas combustion equipment.
• Familiarity with LabVIEW or similar programming software for test automation is preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Accreditation for ANSI and/or UL gas-related certification is preferred.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, six sigma, AutoCad, Pro-E, PLC's, and controls.
• Experience with Pro-E and working with governing certification agencies is desired.
