Accounting Specialist

Position overview This position will be responsible for supporting the Accounting Department with our Accounts Receivable and Payable efforts. Accounts Receivable duties include processing and monitoring incoming payments, and securing revenue by verifying and posting receipts. Accounts Payable completes payments and controls expenses by receiving, verifying, reconciling, and processing invoices .
Accounts Receivable Responsibilities: - Run daily credit card reports for each Merchant
- Code and post all credit card and check transactions
- Post payment adjustments to customer accounts
- Scan daily check deposits
- Transfer customer deposits to the proper orders
Accounts Payable Responsibilities: - Code, obtain approvals and enter invoices into the accounting system
- Process bulk expenses such as EZ Pass, Verizon and UPS
- Review insurance benefit bills to ensure accuracy of billings
- Match check stubs to AP invoices after each check run
Other Responsibilities: - Reconcile intercompany accounts
- Maintain company petty cash
Skills/Knowledge: - Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
- 1-3 years working within an Accounting department or equivalent accounting education
- Experience working with ERP software packages; Microsoft Dynamics, Great Plains experience preferred but not required
- Experience with Microsoft Office products including Excel and Outlook
- Detailed-oriented and accurate
- Organization and time management skills
