Arvada Fire maintains nine active fire stations covering approximately 43 square miles in the City of Arvada, the northern portion of the City of Wheat Ridge, and portions of unincorporated Jefferson County. Arvada Fire employs over 200 employees who serve approximately 133,000 citizens.
Arvada Fire is internationally accredited by the Commission on Fire Accreditation International (CFAI) and has been awarded a Class 1 Public Protection Classification (PPC) from the Insurance Services Office (ISO). We are one of eight agencies in Colorado and one of 113 agencies nationally with accreditation status and an ISO Class 1 rating.
Position Summary The Emergency Vehicle Technician II performs maintenance, diagnosis and repair of automotive, firefighting apparatus, and ambulance equipment.

Qualifications To be considered, applicants must have:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid state issued drivers' license and acceptable driving record (state of Colorado within 60 days of hire).
- Minimum of four (4) years documented work experience of automotive or diesel repair that includes repair and maintenance of emergency vehicles (fire apparatus and ambulance), or a combination of education, certification, and experience to successfully perform the duties of the position.
- Possess EVT Fire Apparatus Technician Level 1 certification
- Possess or obtain within two (2) years EVT Fire Apparatus Technician Level 2 certification
- Possess EVT Ambulance Technician Level 1 certification
- Possess or obtain within two (2) years EVT Ambulance Technician Level 2 certification
- Must possess personal hand tools necessary to perform job duties.
