Job description
5 DAYS ONSITE REQUIRED -NEW HAVEN ONLY.
This is what you will do: - This position is responsible for performing assigned experimental tasks to support development and optimization of manufacturing processes or analytical/characterization methods for biotherapeutic candidates
- The candidate will also apply state-of-art analytical methods for detailed characterization of protein therapeutics
- The candidate will work in collaboration with other members of Process Development and Analytical Sciences to advance the development of therapeutic candidates
You will be responsible for: - Conduct experimental studies to develop and optimize analytical/characterization methods for biotherapeutic candidates
- Execute experimental studies to support manufacturing process development or in-depth analysis of therapeutic proteins
- Document study results in notebooks, forms, and technical reports
- Assist in laboratory management including maintenance
You will need to have: - A successful candidate will typically hold a BS degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related discipline from an accredited university
- 0-2 years of relevant experience working in a relevant laboratory setting
- Understanding/coursework in the fundamentals of biochemistry, chemistry and chemical engineering
- Familiar with investigating PTMs and other protein properties with analytical and characterization-based assays
- Hands on experience with analytical HPLC/UPLC, CE-SDS, and cIEF
- Problem solving skills: Solves routine technical problems
- Scientific Inquisitiveness: Understands background of assigned technical tasks to be resourceful to others
- Communication skills: Discusses work with supervisor and coworkers; Drafts, edits and finalizes technical documents with templates under supervision
- Technical expertise: Conducts assigned routine tasks in the laboratory with limited supervision
- Strategic ability: Understands priority of assigned tasks with limited supervision
- Accountability: Works with supervisor and coworkers to ensure assigned tasks are completed
- Proficiency with various MS Office programs, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- The duties of this role are generally conducted in an lab environment. As is typical of a lab-based role, employees must be able, with or without an accommodation to: lift/carry 15/30 pounds unassisted/assisted; work comfortably in a controlled environment with and around biological, infectious, and hazardous materials; gown/degown PPE; use a computer; engage in communications via phone, video, and electronic messaging; engage in problem solving and non-linear thought, analysis, and dialogue; collaborate with others; maintain general availability during standard business hours.
We would prefer for you to have: - Strong technical skill set in analytical development or protein characterization
- Familiarity with LC/MS and Mass spectrometry experience is desired
- Ability to conduct and complete assigned routine tasks in the laboratory with supervision
- Ability to work on a high paced dynamic team environment
- Excellent written and verbal skills and strong interpersonal skills
