Job Summary:

The Director of Advancement Communication at Radford University is a key role responsible for strategizing, directing, and implementing a comprehensive communication plan to support the University Advancement's goals and serves on the leadership team for University Advancement. This position oversees the editorial direction of the university magazine, alumni newsletters, digital communication channels, and social media platforms. The Director is pivotal in advancing the University's mission by effectively communicating its impact, fostering donor relationships, and engaging diverse audiences across various communication platforms. This position will work with the Vice President to establish the overarching message for the Division across multiple channels and mediums and ensure communication is on brand. Supervise an associate director of advancement communication and interns.

Required Qualifications:

• Extensive experience in communications, marketing, or related field; minimum of 5 years experience.
• Proven track record in editorial leadership, digital communication, social media management, and fundraising communication strategies.
• Demonstrated strong project management skills with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and creativity.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience in team management and collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in higher education or similar setting.
• Supervisory experience
