Job description
Our law firm is seeking an organized, self-starter to join our team as a Legal Case Manager and work alongside attorneys to achieve our client’s goals. We need someone who is an effective communicator, incredibly organized, and self-motivated. Our ideal applicant will have experience in case management and be skilled at drafting documents and conducting legal research. Responsibilities:
- Draw up legal documents for attorney review
- Maintain and organize all case files, and information with regard to engagement, whether electronic or paper, in accordance with firm policies
- Update clients and outside counsel on case status as requested
- Perform legal research to obtain documentation regarding health insurance, medical records, social security, and medical providers
- Support attorneys with all aspects of case management, including billing, docketing deadlines, and providing reminders as needed
Qualifications:
- Ability to multitask and stay self-motivated
- Proficient in word processing, spreadsheet presentation, and case management software
- A 2-year degree and Paralegal certification are acceptable, but a Bachelor’s degree is preferred - High school diploma is required
- Effective organizational and communication skills, both written and oral, are needed
- Professional case management process experience is needed - preferably as a personal injury case manager, or related jobs such as legal assistant, legal secretary, or paralegal, at a non-profit, law firm, or human services agency
