Exciting new opportunity to join a fabulous team as a Physical Therapist!! This is a full time opportunity, M-F in our beautiful Outpatient Specialty Rehabilitation center Inova Loudoun Hospital. OUTPATIENT experience preferred. We offer an array of physical, occupational, and speech language therapies for patients of all ages - from infancy to adult. As a leader of outpatient rehabilitation services in Northern Virginia, our expert clinicians create comprehensive treatment programs tailored to meet the individual needs of our patients. We are conveniently located on the Inova Loudoun Hospital Medical Campus.
As a Physical Therapist 1, you will select evaluations and treatment methods appropriate for the diagnosis, age group and physical/emotional status of patients while formulating appropriate treatment plans. To help achieve our mission, you will demonstrate essential skill competencies in the use of treatment modalities, equipment and protocols. Performing re-evaluations according to department guidelines while adjusting treatment plans accordingly is of vital importance.
Job Responsibilities - Documents the results of evaluations clearly and completely by including all essential elements according to department policy.
- Completes daily progress notes that reflect patients' responses to treatment, actual performance and an assessment as to status relevant to the treatment plan in addition to eventual discharge needs and treatment summaries if needed.
- Completes discharge notes that include a summary of the course of treatment, progress toward goals, discharge needs, recommendations for follow-up and patient and/or family education.
- Documents clearly, concisely and legibly within established timeframes (e.g. allows other therapists to continue treatment, allows for interpretation by payers, supports reimbursements).
- Documents evidence of patient and family/caregiver education.
- Communicates effectively with patients, families, medical staff, care team members, students, supervisors and outside contacts.
- Contacts families, physicians or other healthcare team members in anticipation of specials needs of the patients or families in a timely manner to facilitate effective treatment plans.
Requirements: - New graduate physical therapist eligible. One year of experience in acute care preferred.
Education :
- Bachelors of Science, Physical Therapy. Master's Degree Preferred
Certification :
- BLS certified through the American Heart Association.
Licensure: - Virginia License required upon start.
