Overview

Internship - Underwriting

Berkshire Hathaway GUARD Insurance Companies is currently seeking an intern to support the Small Business Underwriting department. As an intern you will be learning key fundamental business skills. You will be working in an incredibly fast moving business, and have the opportunity to make valuable contributions.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service when answering agent inquiries over the phone
• Maintain electronic files per company guidelines
• Prepare binding documentation, separate, sort and save accurately
• Review policy endorsements, audits or cancellations as directed by underwriter(s)
• Other support tasks as may be directed
  

Qualifications

• Must be currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Risk Management or a related field
• Effective analytical skills to gather information, analyze facts, and draw conclusions independently
• Ability to work in fast paced environment with multiple tasks and deadlines
• Detail oriented
• Team player
• Effective interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
• Knowledge and skillful utilization of Adobe, Microsoft Word, Excel and other programs as needed to execute assigned tasks
