Position Summary:

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Program Director for the department of Neurosurgery at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.

Rutgers RWJ Medical School is seeking applications for the role of Program Director for the Neurotranslational Program. The Center Director will be instrumental in formulating and executing a comprehensive strategy for the Rutgers Neuromodulation Technology Innovation Center. Collaborating closely with Dr. Gross, the Director's responsibilities will encompass budget oversight, the development of fundraising strategies, the cultivation of partnerships with academic institutions, planning for patent protection, securing grants, overseeing website management, and crafting marketing materials. Furthermore, the Director will proactively seek opportunities for expansion by researching and implementing strategies gleaned from visits to other renowned national Innovation Centers.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:

• Collaborate with the Chairman and Faculty to formulate and execute the strategic blueprint for the Rutgers Neuromodulation Technology Center.
• Manage and scrutinize the budget effectively to ensure optimal resource allocation.
• Formulate a comprehensive strategy to secure philanthropic and industry support for the program.
• Partner with Rutgers Biomedical Engineering to establish and enhance the center's presence.
• Work collaboratively to develop a robust plan for safeguarding project patents, implementing strategies for intellectual property protection, and facilitating technology transfer.
• Identify promising grant opportunities for the Center and provide oversight for individual research endeavors.
• Supervise the ongoing development and maintenance of the Center's website.

Minimum Education and Experience:

• Candidates must hold a Ph.D. degree in a relevant field, such as public health, public administration, social sciences, behavioral sciences, or neurosciences.
• Applicants should demonstrate a minimum of seven years of relevant experience, including at least two years in a management level role.
• An equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that showcases the necessary qualifications will also be considered.
