PET PRO LEAD

OVERVIEW

The Pet Pro Lead is a position within the Resort and reports directly to the Resort Manager and General Manager. We believe in the mission of “Pet Lovers Delighting Pet Lovers” and we demonstrate this through being Playful, Passionate, Personal and Professional. A successful candidate will have at least 1 year of supervisor or equivalent experience that includes the oversight and motivation of staff members, and quality assurance. Animal experience is required. We are busiest on the weekends and holiday time frames so you must be available for many of these. You must be able to successfully complete tasks in a timely fashion in a fun, fast-paced environment. If you have a love of animals and are a dedicated, high-energy employee with management or supervisor experience, we may have the perfect job for you.

The role of Pet Pro Lead involves managerial support as well as customer service and Pet Pro support. The Pet Pro Lead will assume responsibility for the care and welfare of the guests in our facility when directed by the General and Resort Managers. The Pet Pro Lead will also assume responsibility for staff when directed by the General and Resort Managers. The Pet Pro Lead must lead by example by demonstrating dependability, initiative, and excellent decision-making skills. Organization, attention to detail and follow up skills is critical. The Pet Pro Lead must be able to take direction well and communicate to Resort Manager as well as all other employees in a positive, effective manner. It is essential that the Pet Pro Lead understands and employs the PetSuites philosophy of customer and guest care in all actions.

PET RESPONSIBILITIES

In capacity of Pet Pro Lead or Pet Pro support role:

Ensure that each guest is treated with respect and dignity.

Ensure that all guest are receiving appropriate amounts of food and water.

Maintain a sanitary and healthy environment by following PetSuites standards of cleaning and disinfecting rooms.

Monitor guests' health by daily charting of eating and elimination habits.

Monitor guests' reaction to playtimes and general demeanor by charting playtime interactions

Follow all PetSuites standards of safety with regards to handling guests, particularly aggressive guests and escape artists.

Pay specific attention to kennel tags, (Meds Person to Feed, Aggressive, Separate for Feeding, etc.).

Immediately alert front staff and resort manager when a guest is ill or exhibiting odd behavior - follow-up by filling out illness form and turning it in to the front staff.

Launder guests' sheepskin, towels, etc., as necessary.

Transport pet to the vet as needed.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

As a Pet Pro Lead, you are part of a larger team who is focused on the daily pet care of our guests. You’ll report to work over a variety of shifts to handle everything from walking dogs, giving them a potty break, feeding and administering medicines, cleaning their rooms, playing with dogs + cats and even loving them as if they were your own. One day you could help our overnight guests feel like this is their palace away from home and the next day you might run the daycare play group and make sure everyone is getting along. You might snuggle a shy pup who needs some extra special attention while also helping a regular get right back into the swing of things. You’ll not only communicate with the dog(s), but also have a lot of interaction with mom and dad. You’ll document what you are seeing and be ready to share with your manager and the pet parent.. And let’s not forget -- you’re probably going to scoop some poop, clean up some pee, go home with some fur on you and get lots of sloppy kisses!

REQUIREMENTS OF A PET PRO LEAD

Successful candidates will have at least 1 year of supervisor or equivalent experience that includes the oversight and motivation of staff members, quality assurance, and an upbeat positive personality. Animal experience is required. We are busiest on the weekends and holiday time frames so you must be available for much of these. Requirements:

Must be able to handle dogs of all sizes and cats.

Must enjoy working with both people and pets.

Must have the stamina to walk energetic dogs as well as ensure our pet resort looks inviting and clean.

Must have a flexible work schedule where you can work during the week, as well as, many weekends and holiday time frames.

Must be able to follow directions and comply with processes and procedures.

Must have a keen sense of observation when observing the pets.

Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks; lift up to 50lbs, stand for long periods.

Knowledge of different breeds and body languages of dogs a plus.

Knowledge of dogs in a group setting preferred but no required.

A Pet Pro Lead must maintain the minimum level of hours per week and have open schedule availability in order to keep Supervisor status and pay. This position is full time status only. Any unapproved change in the above may result in a change to non-supervisor status and reduction to non-supervisor pay.
