Job description
The IoT Connectivity Specialist is a technical, but customer-facing role within Marel.
The IoT Connectivity Specialist will perform, and support the introduction, of the installation, customer training, and service of Marel-connected products installed at different customer locations in North America.
A person in this role is technically capable and can configure the Marel hardware and software platform, as well as analyze and fix technical issues. This role also delivers on-site technical services and remote support for customers, and internal training and mentoring for Marel Customer Center teams, so extensive travel is expected as part of this role.
They will also provide hands-on technical customer service support and knowledge of hardware and software applications and have detailed knowledge of networked data acquisition systems, embedded firmware, and cloud analytics.
Work closely with Software Engineer(s) and Product Manager(s) to improve the product and make our customers successful by analyzing system data, resolving technical issues, assisting with documentation, and training, and providing our customers with the best solutions and recommendations.
What you will be doing:
- Building knowledge of connectivity products within the Customer Center commercial and technical teams
- Work alongside the Marel Connectivity Project Manager for the onboarding, turn-up & test, and post-install support for Marel-connected products.
- Participate in installation planning meetings both remote and on-site if required to prepare the customer for using Marel-connected products.
- Provide knowledge of security requirements for IoT devices and their associated software applications.
- Travel to support onsite Marel-connected product installations when needed.
- Training of subregional technical staff on the implementation and benefit of the solutions
- Onsite installation and user training of Marel-connected products at customer locations.
- Train and mentor Marel customer-facing service teams,
- Troubleshoot issues upon first contact to obtain resolution or when necessary, perform the appropriate escalation.
- Collaborate with Cloud support on developing a support environment for Marel-connected products.
- Creates knowledge base articles both for new configurations and for solving known issues.
- Support O-series connectivity solutions in the field in conjunction with Marel Software Development.
- Strong customer-facing skills alongside internal stakeholder management
- Perform other customer-related duties as needed.

- Willing to travel abroad (up to 60%).
- A strong desire to learn within this growing area for Marel.
Education, Knowledge and Experience:
- University degree or qualified certification, or a solid base of experience of the Marel portfolio.
- Understanding of communication and industrial data collection from systems such as sensors, controllers, and machine control solutions.
- Strong English skills, both written and verbal. Experience with and comfort working in multi-cultural, multi-discipline organizations is an advantage.
