Job description
Info Gain Consulting is seeking a Data Scientist to join our team in support of our Department of Defense (DoD) customer based in Alexandria, VA. The Data Scientist will perform advanced analytics services to support duties associated with identifying, deterring, and investigating fraud, deficiency, waste, and abuse, as well as monitoring the progress made in the implementation of corrective actions for our federal client.
Responsibilities Include: - Lead the design and development of advanced machine learning models, statistical analyses, and predictive solutions to uncover strategic insights.
- Collaborate with business units to understand core challenges and translate those into actionable data projects.
- Champion data-driven decision-making – present recommendations clearly and explain the impact of data insights to stakeholders at all levels.
- Drive continuous improvement by mentoring junior data scientists and contributing to our knowledge-sharing culture.
- Research and deploy cutting-edge data science techniques and algorit hms.
Required Experience, Skills, and Qualifications: - Must be a US Citizen.
- Must have and maintain a current DoD Secret clearance.
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
- 5+ years of experience in a data science role with a proven track record of applying machine learning and statistical modeling to solve complex business problems.
- Expertise in Python or R, and fluency in data science libraries (e.g., pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, Keras).
- Strong SQL skills and experience in data extraction from various data sources.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate effectively and clearly articulate technical findings to diverse audiences.
Desired Qualifications: - Experience with the Cloudera Data Platform.
- Experience in data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI).
- Experience in deep learning, natural language processing (NLP), or computer vision.
- Working knowledge of Big Data technologies (Spark, Hadoop, etc.).
- Industry- specific domain knowledge in the DoD.
