Swoon is hiring a senior Java Developer for one of its clients, a big name in the Medical Insurance Industry. Client Industry: Health Insurance Location: Columbia, SC, onsite Duration: 6 months, potential extension Pay rate: 55+$ per hour on W2 W2 role (no H1B Transfer or C2C)
Minimum Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field preferred
- 6 years of application development or related experience.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to mentor other developers.
Required Technology Stack: - Java Semantic Technologies/Ontologies
- SPARQL queries
- Oracle DB Agile
- SCRUM
Nice to Have: - Eclipse, GitHub, Jenkins
Duties: - The Senior Developer oversees Java development, Oracle DB updates, and AllegroGraph database updates for the EMS application, with additional responsibilities for maintaining and supporting the MRTS, IRR, and POETs applications.
- Responsible for analysis, design, programming, and implementation of complex application tasks and projects.
- Devise logical procedures to resolve business problems using computer resources.
- Provide technical direction and support for business systems software and procedures.
- Design, code, test, and debug complex application programs.
- Contribute expertise to integrate applications across the business.
- Act as an internal consultant, advocate, mentor, and change agent on complex projects.
- Work closely with customers, business analysts, and team members to align solutions with business and IT strategies.
- Provide design recommendations based on long-term IT organization strategy.
- Develop programming and development standards.
- Provide guidance to lower-level programmers/analysts and lead complex projects or phases of large projects.
- Test designed programs, verify logic, perform debugging, and write documentation.
