Reporting to the Infrastructure Innovation Leader (IIL), the Infrastructure Resilience Leader (IRL) for Infrastructure is a “seller/doer” responsible for leading the pursuit and delivery of Infrastructure resilience work for our clients. The IRL leads the process to first clearly define and reach consensus on Infrastructure Resilience as an emerging business across North America; and then to lead the growth of this portfolio to advance Stantec’s market position. Particularly because of the integrated nature of resiliency work, this will include close collaboration with all our emerging and existing sectors across Infrastructure.
The IRL is responsible for building strong client relationships both internally and externally; making sure that we deliver excellent work to our clients using innovative solutions for projects that exceed expectations and grow Stantec's market position. In this role, you will be supported by an enthusiastic team of climate and environmental scientists, digital solutions developers, funding specialists, planners, and engineers who are passionate about growing our Resilience practice.
This role serves both our external clients and internal teams as a thought leader, subject matter expert, internal champion, external face, and brand ambassador. Working with the regions, sectors, and marketing, the IRL will develop and lead marketing and business development (MBD) plans to meet sector and regional sales targets, win new opportunities, maintain, and grow key clients, attract and retain talent, and establish a strong brand in select markets.
What First Year Success Looks Like:
Advance and coordinate our Climate Solutions Strategic Growth Initiative for Infrastructure.
Working with the IIL, define and develop consensus with Infrastructure leadership on the definition of the Infrastructure Resilience services including how it enhances our sectors.
Once defined, assess the gaps and opportunities for Stantec in Resilience including identification of our current practitioners across the company.
Develop and implement a 2024 Infrastructure Resilience strategy and business plan that aligns and enhances the Infrastructure business.
Responsible for achieving a 2024 Infrastructure Resilience Sales Goal.
Achieve minimum direct utilization target.
Develop the Top 20 Pursuit List for Infrastructure Resilience to achieve net revenue targets while managing MBD spend to achieve appropriate ROI.
Essential Functions:
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and industry stakeholders, positioning as a trusted advisor and thought leader for Resilience.
Collaborate with Infrastructure sector leaders, regional business leaders and business center leadership to identify cross-selling opportunities for Resilience.
Stay abreast of industry trends and developments and leverage this knowledge to develop innovative solutions that address client needs.
Identify and pursue opportunities for thought leadership and business development, such as, blogs, publications, speaking engagements, and partnerships.
Identify and lead a team of key practitioners across North America, providing strategy, guidance, and support to ensure high-quality work and client satisfaction.
Collaborate with the IIL to develop and mature digital products and their use in the sales process and delivery of engagements.
Look for opportunities to transform and augment the use of data analytics/digital tools that enhance our ability to drive efficiencies and provide better decision-making around Resilience.
Support our company and clients’ efforts to advance environmental justice and equity in our work.
Client Focus:
Increases visibility of Stantec by sharing our knowledge and innovation story through key client and organization engagements and social media to enhance our reputation and drive revenue.
Responsible for utilizing and ensuring the opportunity Pipeline is maintained and monitored to optimize business development plans.
Project Focus:
Individually pursue and lead significant projects for Resilience.
Achieve minimum direct utilization target.
Actively participate, including contribution to written content, in major projects in key roles, as required.
Oversee risk management related to projects and pursuits including review of contracts, fees, and proposals on large pursuits (>$10M USD) and in coordination with a risk committee review.
People Leadership:
Inspire, motivate, and hold teams accountable for the delivery of innovative design solutions.
Responsible for driving project excellence.
Act as an industry thought leader and promote the hiring and retention of key staff.
Business Development and Collaboration:
Responsible for achieving a yearly Resilience sales goal in support of the overall Infrastructure strategy and growth expectations..
Maintain and manage the Top 20 Pursuit List for Infrastructure Resilience to achieve net revenue targets while managing MBD spend to achieve appropriate return on investment.
Financial Management:
Responsible for developing an annual business plan and budget, outlining the vision, focus, strategy, and priorities for implementation, and setting specific goals in support of the overall Infrastructure Business Plan.
Work directly with Infrastructure Sector Leaders, the BLs, RBLs, BCPLs, and BCOLs to meet net revenue, gross margin, sales goals, and Pune staff targets.
Responsible for implementing efficiencies to improve project delivery.

Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in either planning. landscape architecture or civil engineering
Registered Professional – engineering, planning, or landscape architecture
10 years’ experience with a minimum of 5 years as a project manager in directly relevant projects (public or private sector)
Experience successfully developing client relationships, winning work, and delivering projects for a range of clients related to Resilience.

Salary Range(s):
The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
