PGT Trucking, Inc. is an asset-based transportation firm offering flatbed, dedicated, international, and specialized service in the steel, building materials, oil & gas, raw materials, aluminum, and automotive industries. Headquartered in Hopewell, PA, PGT was founded in 1981 based on the principles of superior flatbed transportation services and personal relationships. PGT has more than 30 terminals across the country, operating in excess of 1,000 power units and over 1,500 trailers.
Job Description:
The Business Development Manager will work as part of the broader Business Development Team that will enable customer acquisition and retention though effective account management activities. Responsibilities include prospecting, networking, attending industry events, quoting projects, and all related sales process functions to ensure we have freight for our trucks to haul.
Position is based in PGT's Laredo TX terminal /Monterrey Mexico office.
How YOU Will Make an Impact
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with current and potential customers to ensure continued success of the Company's overall sales and marketing strategies.
- Identifying, developing, and expanding revenue opportunities with new and existing customers.
- Identify and promote the development of new geographical markets and business segments.
- Work collaboratively between partners and Company sales & operations team to drive opportunity generation and provide support services as necessary.
- Analyze industry trends and their impact to PGT's strategy and operational capability.
What YOU Need to Succeed
- Proven sales experience creating strategic partnerships with new customers and increasing intimacy within an existing book of business.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment; high energy, motivated, results driven and a self-starter.
- Ability to build a sales pipeline across your territory of focus as a hunter and farmer through networking and engagement.
- Effective communicator with excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to build strong relationships with customers and Company teams across all levels of an organization.
- Exceptionally high-level of organization, discipline, and self-structure, with adaptability to real-time demands.
- Strong problem-solving skills with an ability to provide solutions for customers.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Bilingual strongly preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of successful documented sales experience in an industrial setting
- Transportation/Logistics experience a plus
- Up to 75% travel
