Job description
SHOP FOREMAN
This is a hands-on position involved in assisting our technicians and customers in our service department. This is a fast paced environment with high expectations where you are rewarded for doing exceptional work. This position is essential to the success of our shop and will be responsible for the following:
- Assigning repair orders to the appropriate technicians and making sure the work is done efficiently
- Encouraging a safe working environment and appropriate use of PPE
- Assisting Service Manager in training personnel and resolving customer complaints
- Maintaining the highest possible standards of workmanship
- Developing systems to check for quality of workmanship and jobs performed
- Striving for teamwork and harmony with other departments
- Working with parts department to ensure proper parts stocking of high use parts
- Communicating effectively with all customers and coworkers in a manner that reflects positively on one self, the dealership, and the brands
- All other duties assigned
SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Detail/customer oriented
- Excellent follow up skills
- Ability to multi-task in a fast paced, deadline driven environment and adapt to constantly changing priorities
- General computer knowledge and a working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Displays a “can-do” attitude that focuses on accountability and solutions
- Self-motivated
- Mechanical aptitude
- Previous experience working in a heavy duty shop is preferred
