Job description
FEED Cooperative is seeking a part-time warehouse associate and backup delivery driver for 18-24 hours per week. The ideal candidate is a passionate and disciplined self-starter who can help us fulfill our mission to help create a sustainable food system in Sonoma County.
We are a growing harvest-to-order produce cooperative (employee and farmer-owned) working with 50-plus local farms. Our fleet of trucks picks up and delivers in the Bay Area to wholesale and retail customers. We are willing to train the right individuals who are passionate about our mission. We also have a growing retail vegetable box program called the FEED Bin.
Warehouse Receiver and FEED Bin Builder :: Monday and Thursday from 4 pm to midnight/1 am. We are seeking someone who can help out in various capacities. This includes loading trucks efficiently and safely and providing our farmer/owners with stellar customer service. This position will also be involved in building our vegetable boxes (FEED Bins) that go out to our pick-up spots and home delivery customers in the Bay Area. There is also a Tuesday shift from 11 am to 4 pm that will focus on building FEED Bins.
Backup Delivery Driver :: This position will fill in for routes that normally happen on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings. We will train you to be able to deliver in our 14-16-foot box trucks and smaller Sprinter vans on routes that cover most of the entire Bay Area.
Responsibilities:
* Provide accurate accounting of received product
* Be familiar with storage requirements, product sensitivity, and handling needs
* Effectively communicate to warehouse manager about quality issues or product shortages
Physical Requirements:
* Must be able to consistently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. without assistance
* Must be able to walk and stand on concrete floors for prolonged periods
* Must be able to perform all duties safely (i.e., proper lifting techniques)
* Able to work in a fast-paced, team environment
