Job description
JOB SUMMARY:
The role of the operating room OR nurse or perioperative nurse is to provide care for patients before, during and after surgery or surgical procedures. The operating room nurse job description also includes the role of patient educator, circulating nurse and/or scrub nurse, and potentially RN first assistant or operating room director with additional training. Circulating OR nurses work within the operating suite but outside of the sterile field; scrub OR nurses handle and prepare operating instruments and equipment within the sterile field. Operating room nurses or perioperative nurses work in every type of healthcare facility, including hospitals, ambulatory or outpatient surgery centers and physician offices.
An 560 Bed Community Hospital with a 10 Room OR/ASC Suite. Heavy concentration in Ortho/Spine and Robotic Surgery.
JCAHO Total Joint Certification
Educational Skills Required Degree, Certification, License, etc.
Work Experience Required
Two or more years OR RN experience required.
