CAD CAM Programmer – Job Summary:

We’re supporting our client, a leading steel equipment manufacturer based in Alliance, Ohio who are looking for a CAD CAM Programmer to join their growing team. The successful CAD CAM Programmer will have experience running CNC horizontal boring mills and creating the CNC programs with AutoCad and MasterCam software.

Salary:                         $64,000 – $70,000

Job Summary:

The CAD/CAM Programmer provides programming support for all in-house CNC milling machines,

enhancing internal productivity and quality. This individual must be highly motivated and a self-starter but skilled in communicating with other machining teammates. This position will work with machinists and mechanical engineers to achieve success, and report to our Foreman of Machining

Responsibilities:

• Use detail drawings and 3D models to generate CNC programs for part manufacture, with
• activities consisting of online programming (at machine) and offline programming (on PC).
• Using MasterCam software, create and optimize part G-code, including selection of proper speeds, feeds, tooling, and tool paths.
• Maintain database of all program files and control the distribution of files from the server to the machines.
• Document and record all program revisions.
• Determine fixturing required for each part, designing new fixtures where required.
• Troubleshoot machining-related issues.
• Effectively communicate and interact with machine operators and engineers.
• Suggest and implement productivity improvements in the areas of machining and programming.
• Assist the Machine Shop Manager as required. Mechanical aptitude: Ability to plan.
• Read, understand, interpret blueprints and AutoCAD drawings.
• Ability to work independently and in a group setting, making decisions based on information given for desired requirements.

About You:

• Associate Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Technology
• Two (2) years CAD/CAM experience
• Two (2) to five (5) years’ experience with operation of CNC horizontal boring mills
• Working knowledge of dimensioning and tolerances
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Practical knowledge of measuring tools and equipment.
