The pay range is: $135,200.00 – $153,900.00

JOB POSITION :       Senior Engineer

LOCATION :             7000 Target Parkway North, Brooklyn Park, MN 55445

DUTIES :                    Perform full stack (user interface and backend) development of multiple applications in the Property Design space; serve as a specialist in the engineering team that supports the product; help develop and gain insight in the application architecture; distill an abstract architecture into concrete design and influence the implementation; show expertise in applying the appropriate software engineering patterns to build robust and scalable systems; evaluate new technologies and participate in decision-making, accounting for several factors such as viability with Target’s technical environment, maintainability, and cost of ownership; manage total product, financials, and forecasting; lead the design, lifecycle management, and total cost of ownership of services; participate in routine and non-routine construction, automation, and implementation activities, ensuring successful implementation with architectural and operational requirements and best practices met; provide technical oversight and coach others to resolve complex and severe technical issues, lead disaster recovery activities and contribute to disaster recovery planning; embed data quality protocols throughout data acquisition, processing, storage, and operational use; participate in the full stack development which includes front-end and back-end applications development, testing, deployment and support; build reusable components and libraries, and is responsible for adherence to standards, policies and development guidelines; lead and conduct code and design review, testing, and debugging activities at the application level; lead functional design and architecture discussions for the assigned work with understanding of process flows and system diagrams to enable design decisions; initiate and execute research and proof-of-concept activities as needed. Tools/technologies used include: Java, Spring Boot, PostgreSQL, Kafka, JavaScript, ReactJS, HTML/CSS, Jira, Confluence, Visual Studio Code, and IntelliJ Idea. Position may telecommute from any location in the U.S.

REQUIREMENTS :  This position requires at least a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field and at least five (5) years of post-baccalaureate, progressive experience in application development, design and implementation (any title) performing automation, writing test cases, reviewing code, and using databases, Java, Spring Boot, Jira, JavaScript, ReactJS, Visual Studio Code, and Web applications.
