Position Title: Research Associate I-III
Classification: Non-Exempt - Exempt
Reports To: Head of Epi-genetic Services

What's the job all about?
RA I
- Supports Epi-Services customer projects received by Operations & Services Team
- Performs next generation sequencing (NGS) lab bench work assigned in a time dependent, quality dependent manner
- Executes assigned lab bench experiments in a time dependent manner and quality dependent manner
- Train and follow SOP for each Assay Service
- Record, document and store data & results as per the SOP/receipt and logging of samples in LIMS tracker
- Ensure, contribute and support team goals achievements
- Performs regular clean-up of the lab bench space / equipment utilized
- Performs and follows safety requirements as outlined
- Keeps detailed record of lab experiments, logs of instruments utilized
- Sets up and follows quality control requirements
- Contributes and supports Group Leader with customer projects data analysis
- Will perform up to 4 different Assay Services with varying sample batch sizes
- Other duties as required and/or assigned
RA II
- Will perform up to 8 different Assay Services with high volume batch sizes
- Will present data to colleagues internally
- Troubleshoot instruments issues / errors
- Evaluating quality control checks and determine pass / fail decisions working with Group Leader
- Project management and time management on assigned projects
- Contribute and support process improvement plans to Services and LIMS
- Participate in new assay service offerings and validations
- Proficient and subject matter expert (SME) on at least 2 different assay services
RA III
- Responsible for project management and time management on assigned projects
- Proficient and subject matter expert (SME) on at least 3 different assay services at Expert level
- Create, contribute and support track of KPIs, cost reduction, oversee Instrument management
- Contributes to invoiced revenue growth projections
- Supervises a small group of research associates

Education/Qualifications:
RA I
- Bachelor's degree in Biological sciences (in Molelcular Biology, Genetics, Life Sciences or related fields)
- 0-1 year of hands-on experience in molecular biology techniques such as PCR
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- General knowledge of the basic principles of molecular biology
- Careful record-keeping and good organization skills are essential
- General knowledge of quality control in lab experiments is preferred
RA II
- Bachelor's / Master's degree in Biological sciences (in Molelcular Biology, Genetics, Life Sciences or related fields)
- With >2 year (Bachelor level ) or 1 year (Master level) hands on experience in molecular biology techniques such as PCR
RA III
- With >4 year (Bachelor level ) or >2 year (Master level) hands on experience in molecular biology techniques such as PCR
- Careful record-keeping and good organization skills are essential
- Should have experience in next generation sequencing methods such as (but not limited to): ChIPSeq, CUT&Tag, RNAseq, ATACSeq, single cell Sequencing, RIME, Mod Spec, Bisulfite sequencing.

- Demonstrated ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and maintain detailed records
- Ensures a high degree of detail, quality, and focus on every job; capable of multi-tasking
- Performs quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision
- Professional written and verbal communication
- General knowledge of quality control in lab experiments is preferred
- Should be interested or have previous experience in training individuals and team management
- Proficient with MS Office Suite

- Salary Range: $53-73k per year
* The salary of the final candidate selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, experience, education, specialization, skills, abilities, and training. The salary range represents Active Motif's good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible compensation at the time of the posting. Certain positions may be eligible for additional compensation such as commission, bonus, and stock options. All benefits are subject to eligibility requirements.
