Job description

The Head Artisan Baker is responsible for overseeing the production of high-quality artisanal bread and bakery and pastry products. This role combines culinary expertise, leadership skills, and a passion for creating baked goods. The Head Artisan Baker ensures that all bakery operations run smoothly, maintains quality control, and manages a team of bakers. *Must have prior bread baking experience*

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Bakery Production:

    • Develop and follow artisanal recipes for various bread and pastry products.
    • Prepare dough, ferment, shape, and bake a wide range of artisanal breads.
    • Create and implement new product ideas and variations.
    • Ensure consistent product quality and taste.
  2. Team Management:

    • Recruit, train, and supervise bakery staff.
    • Schedule shifts, assign tasks, and provide guidance to maintain efficient production.
    • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
  3. Quality Control:

    • Maintain high standards for ingredient quality and freshness.
    • Monitor and control baking processes to ensure product consistency and taste.
    • Conduct regular quality checks and address any issues promptly.
  4. Safety and Sanitation:

    • Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations.
    • Maintain a clean and organized bakery environment.
    • Train staff in safe food handling practices.
  5. Menu Development:

    • Collaborate with management to develop and update the bakery menu.
