Job description
Responsibilities
OPPD is looking to add a Senior Engineer to its Asset Management team. The Senior Engineer develops and sustains asset management strategies associated with the operation and maintenance of OPPD's substation, transmission, and distribution assets and related systems while optimizing reliability and cost. This includes best practice recommendations, business justifications, business need to technical requirements translation, asset performance assessments, predictive analytics concepts, and preventive intervention recommendations.

- Act as the SME supporting managers across the organization with development, approval, and revision of asset management plans, equipment lifecycle evaluations, condition inspections, technical and economic calculations, remediation contract specifications, as assigned.
- Lead, participate, or independently deliver technical analysis and audience-appropriate documents for complex engineering assignments.
Qualifications
Required:
- ABET accredited Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering with relevant maintenance program experience.
- Five years of applicable utility technical maintenance programs and field oversight experience.
- Demonstrated replace-in-kind assessment capability for utility energy delivery equipment and system condition evaluations.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer within the State of Nebraska or means for reciprocity within six months.
- Knowledge and understanding of power delivery infrastructure (underground and overhead transmission, overhead and underground distribution, substation, network) design, operational criticality, and condition remediation methods.
- Advanced User MS Office Professional Skills (e.g., pivot tables, live data links, data parsing, OLE, SQL)
- A valid driver's license is required.
Desired:
- NACE CIP Level 1 Certification (five years of directly applicable experience in corrosion protection technology, outdoor and underground structure corrosion evaluation, coating preparation and application, and coating contract specification may be considered equivalent)
- FAA Part 107 Certification for Remote Pilot of unmanned aircraft or within six months from hire date.
- Familiarity and experience with Asset Suite, Cognos, PeopleSoft, and SharePoint.
- Master's degree in Engineering, or MBA with relevant asset management/lifecycle experience.
- Demonstrated capabilities of researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, making sound recommendations, and presenting recommendations.
- Thorough knowledge of OPPD¿s transmission, distribution, and substation systems.
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of analytics software such as Power BI, Python, Tableau, R, Machine Learning

Minimum: $104,645
Midpoint: $130,806
