Are you up for a challenging but meaningful job? We need a CASE MANAGER/LEGAL ASSISTANT who can hit the ground running. This position is for a LEGAL ASSISTANT/CASE MANAGER who will be the first line of contact for the Clients and who is in charge of ensuring the case progresses smoothly, efficiently and within a reasonable period of time. WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR • You have a positive, optimistic personality and smile when you answer the phone. • You are amazing at managing projects, and a master scheduler with a superior degree of attention to detail. • You are a people-pleaser with backbone and grit. • You have excellent written and communication skills • You understand the family law legal process and emotional experiences of clients This is a full-time job and in-office.  ALL APPLICATIONS MUST INCLUDE COMPLETION OF THE DISC PERSONALITY ASSESSMENT AND SCREENING QUESTIONS. All others will be disqualified. Responsibilities: • Being the first face of the company by speaking with our clients with a friendly personality, and tending to clients’ needs with compassion and promptness • Articulating the court process, steps and status to the clients so they know where they are in the process and what’s next • Making sure there is always a “next step” in the case that is being performed so the case does not get stalled • Ensuring that no deadlines are missed; that Clients and attorneys are prepared for the hearings; and that you keep the case moving along toward completion • Handle office correspondence and administrative tasks such as responding to emails and phone calls, communicating with opposing attorney offices, taking dictation, and letting the team know about upcoming deadlines • Gathering important information and records so we can prepare documents • Calendaring due dates and following through to ensure none are missed • Managing Google Drive documents (correctly labeling, organizing and sending to clients) • Monitoring the Client Portal and replying to messages or directing them to them • Meet your minimum weekly billable hour requirements Qualifications: • Associate’s degree or equivalent • 2+ years minimum prior experience in a family law or civil law firm environment as a secretary or administrative assistant, or demonstrate a solid understanding of the family law process/procedures • Excellent organizational and project management skills • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Applicant must be able to type 50 words per minute or faster • Must have a positive attitude, be coachable, and be willing to learn • Must live within commuting distance to the Ontario, CA area or have independent plans for relocation • Applicant must have worked with legal software, case management and calendaring programs and be comfortable with using various windows and monitors on a computer • Ability to comfortably use Google Suite products About Company: We are a FAMILY LAW FIRM that is continually growing.
