Job description

We are looking for a 2nd Shift Supervisor to join our team!

The 2nd Shift Supervisor is responsible for overviewing all their shift duties and ensuring employees perform necessary duties efficiently. They will be in charge of making sure the employees have what they need to complete their job and that production runs smo othly . This position is a "working manager" role that will expect the candidate to work alongside their direct reports a nd peers .

WORK CONDITIONS/SCHEDULE

Typical core hours are 12pm-10pm (Monday-Thursday)

• Some work on Fridays
• No weekends!

Hours likely to exceed 40/week

This is a "working" manager role

Long periods of standing, walking, bending, and lifting

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide leadership to hourly production employees to achieve goals
• Works alongside and cohesively with production team members
• Monitor production equipment and report issues and concerns appropriately
• Motivate team to hit and exceed productivity standards
• Troubleshoot minor equipment and/or mechanical issues
• Recognize employees for going above and beyond
• Foster a culture of teamwork, trust, and inclusion among coworkers
• Identify areas for improvement proactively and assist in providing solutions
• Be available and visible to the team
• Educate and coach employees if expectations are not met
• Mentor and teach employees who are ready for additional responsibility
• Ensure employees have what they need to complete their tasks
• Communicate daily of any problems or obstacles with managers
• Report performance concerns appropriately and timely
• Maintain housekeeping standards to ensure a clean and safe workplace
• Ensure proper knowledge of products and processes
• Support Plant Manager with projects and/or tasks
• Ensure employees follow standard work, rules and policies
• Delegate and assign work to employees
• Close the facility at the end of the day
• Train new employees and acclimate them to processes and procedures
• Monitor quality standard of products
• Reads and records water, energy and gas meters
• Make appropriate decisions on behalf of production when necessary
• Assist with other duties as assigned

NECESSARY SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently
• Ability to give direction
• Ability to motivate other team members

REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Experience in a production/manufacturing setting
• Experience leading o thers
• Must be able to lift 40lbs
• Experience working 2 nd shift preferred
