Job description
Seeking CT Technologist to provide services to eligible beneficiaries of the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Iowa city (hereinafter referred to Iowa City VAMC).
- Start Date: Immediate pending clearance by the VA Medical Center
- Duration: 3 to 9 months
- Shifts:
- Day Shift -Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm (one hour unpaid lunch). No services required on holidays unless on call.
- On call (in rotation with other CT Techs) - one to two weeknights per week and one weekend per month.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Interpreting the orders provided by the physician or other prescribing medical professional.
- Explaining what will happen during the CT scan to patients.
- Positioning patients properly to take the necessary images.
- Administering IVs that contain contrast dyes to enhance imaging.
- Examining images to ensure they are usable.
- Updating patient medical information
- Cleaning and maintaining CT scan equipment.
- Keeping inventory of CT scan supplies and making orders for supply restocks as required.
Qualifications:
- You must be a U.S. Citizen to apply for this job.
- Graduate of an accredited Radiological Technology program or equivalent.
- Must have a current (ARRT) (CT) - certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
- Active BLS Certification
- Proven experience working as a CT technologist.
- Must be proficient in written and spoken English.
- Provide proof of Health Record as required.

Employee Pay Structure:
- Base Pay: $45.59 + $4.41 health and welfare stipend, up to 40 hours a week (Taxable)
- Per Diem: $29.18 per hour Non- Taxable/Stipend (50 miles or more)
- On-call (Beeper) Rate: $5hr
- Call-back/Response Rate: 1.5x base pay
- Sick Leave (up to 7days in a year)
- Paid federal holidays.
