Liberty Tire Recycling is looking for a Regional Controller to join our team.

Liberty Tire Recycling is the premier company in the tire recycling industry, helping customers meets their environmental goals by collecting and recycling nearly half of North America's scrap tires through a network of facilities located in the United States and Canada. Liberty provides high quality rubber feedstock for value added products and materials such as mulch, playground material, turf in-fill, and rubberized asphalt.
Job Summary:
TheĀ Regional Controller will be responsible for development and adherence to the accounting principles, best practices, and procedures that will ensure accurate and timely financial statements. This position will have oversight of the accounting function for the region sites and will be responsible for all financial reporting.
The Regional Controller reports to the Area Finance Director with dotted line reporting to Regional Vice President.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all accounting activities within the sites to ensure financial processes and information are accurate, timely, and contain adequate internal controls in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- Assist and support region's accounts payable, receivable and payroll departments
- Manage region's general ledger and journal entry postings
- Complete and reconcile monthly site volume flows for inbound and outbound volume
- Verify and reconcile site's inventories
- Ensure intercompany transactions are accurate and properly recorded
- Manage and provide balance sheet account reconciliations
- Manage and verify all monthly accruals are recorded and supported
- Work with operations team on developing and recording metrics/reports to improve forecasting tools
- Generate capital project requests and supporting analysis
- Review monthly operating financial reports and provide variance to budget and prior year analysis
- Prepare annual budgets
- Analyze and develop regional initiatives to improve financial performance
- Participate in management meetings
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from accredited institution
- CPA preferred
- 8 years of accounting experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment preferred
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Accounting software experience, preferably MAS 500 or other Sage ERP platform
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including strong Excel skills
- Must be able to travel up to 10% of the time
