Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Overview: As a Maintenance Technician at the Sunshine Terrace Foundation, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety, functionality, and aesthetic appeal of our facility. Mature, highly refined communication skills are ESSENTIAL. This is a Career opportunity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Communication: Communicate effectively with Management, Staff, and residents, regarding maintenance issues, repairs, and scheduled maintenance activities. Provide updates on the status of ongoing maintenance projects and coordinate with other departments as needed.
- Routine Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections of facility equipment, systems, and structures to identify and address any issues or potential hazards promptly. This includes plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
- Repairs: Perform repairs and troubleshooting for any equipment or facility-related problems efficiently and effectively.
- Preventative Maintenance: Implement and maintain a preventative maintenance program to ensure the longevity and efficiency of equipment and systems.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and standards in accordance with local, state, and federal guidelines. Conduct safety inspections and address any safety concerns promptly.
- Emergency Response: Respond to emergency maintenance requests promptly and effectively, including after-hours and weekends as needed.
- Inventory Management: Maintain inventory of supplies, tools, and equipment necessary for maintenance tasks.
- Documentation: Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, repairs performed, and equipment maintenance schedules. Document any equipment modifications or upgrades for future reference.
Qualifications:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills. This is MANDATORY.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training in maintenance or related field preferred.
- Proven experience as a maintenance technician, preferably in a healthcare or senior living environment.
- Strong knowledge of building systems, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
- Willingness to participate in ongoing training and professional development.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 75 lbs.).
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
- Willingness to work in various weather conditions and environments.
- Ability to operate maintenance equipment and tools safely.
