What it's about

For this position, we are looking for an investment fund attorney in our New York, NY office focusing on evergreen private equity products (including registered investment companies) and respective bespoke client solutions, with an emphasis on private wealth strategies. Partners Group’s Private Wealth Structuring team is responsible for developing innovative investment fund structures across the globe. The group regularly interacts with the firm’s client relationship management, investment and operations teams as well as with clients, external professionals and regulators. Representative projects include, for example, the design, formation and negotiation of fund vehicles suitable for the inclusion of private equity in private wealth channels, defined contribution pension plans and the orchestration of implementing and maintaining bespoke solutions for specific markets and/or client needs, always including profound analysis of both commercial considerations and the applicable regulatory framework (Investment Company Act of 1940, ERISA, etc.).

• Efficiently manage complex structuring projects from a legal, regulatory, operational and project management aspect, with an emphasize on US private wealth offerings
• Lead the design, formation and negotiation of customized fund offerings with business/distribution partners (e.g., banks)
• Draft and/or review legal documentation relating to a variety of fund structures
• Assume responsibility and ownership for select funds, including oversight on product launch and maintenance
• Join a dynamic group responsible for the launch of cutting-edge alternative asset products
• Research legal and regulatory considerations relevant to specific clients, products and jurisdictions
• Manage external legal advisors and other service providers to effectively navigate the above

What we expect

• Qualified professional with 5+ years of relevant work experience at a reputable law firm, bank or asset manager, whereby direct private markets fund formation and/or investment exposure is key
• Direct experience with registered investment companies, business development companies, evergreen funds, distribution arrangements, insurance dedicated funds, securitized vehicles and other innovative structures; in-depth regulatory knowledge in relation to evergreen products is a plus  
• Self-motivated and proactive individual with strong desire to learn and succeed
• Excellent analytical, interpersonal and project management skills to manage multiple projects at any one time
• Ability to effectively communicate complex topics with both internal and external parties

• Partners Group compensation has a long-term outlook and philosophy. Base pay range for this role is $225k – $300k and typically a significant performance-based bonus.
