Job Summary
Works across departments to create and distribute useful content for customers and employee-owners. Shapes and executes content strategy in collaboration with internal subject matter experts.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions
- Works closely with internal subject matter experts to ideate, plan, write and edit content
- Builds and maintains relationships with internal stakeholders and sources across departments
- Shapes and executes content strategy to align with initiative goals and communication trends
- Curates information from a variety of sources and distill complex topics with clear writing
- Creates, publishes and organizes content for email newsletters, website, intranet and social media
- Manages audience lists and subscriber data in an email marketing platform
- Leads editorial planning meetings and manages a content calendar
- Collaborates with Creative Services team to write and design content
- Researches and advocates for audience interests while addressing stakeholder concerns
- Measures content performance and impact on initiative goals with surveys and analytics tools
- Develops editorial standards and optimizes processes for content creation
- Leverages knowledge of user experience to assist in implementing and improving digital communication technologies
Non-essential Functions
- Upholds Border States’ visual and verbal brand guidelines in all communication
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor or other designate
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communication or related field
- 1–3 years of writing, editing and/or communication experience
- Experience working in a newsroom or content marketing capacity preferred
