Job Title: PBIS Specialist (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports)
Department: School Age
Reports to: School Age Director
Status: Full-Time (Exempt)
POSITION SUMMARY: The Positive Behavioral Intervention and Support (PBIS) Specialist is responsible for supporting PBIS training and implementation. The PBIS Specialist will also provide facilitation, training, and coaching to staff as well as maintain appropriate related documentation records and reports. The PBIS Specialist may work individually with students in need as well as with families as needed to help students be successful in the Y School Age Program.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: - Develop PBIS program and lead in the implementation across school sites and summer program.
- Support sustainability and expansion of PBIS practices.
- Provide training and technical assistance to teams to maintain and develop systems of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports provide professional development and training at all SACC sites and with staff.
- Provide coaching and recommendations to Y educators.
- Coordinate and monitor necessary data collection.
- Assist site teams in developing, implementing, and evaluating action plans using a variety of data sources.
- Act as a liaison between sites and the SACC Director related to the PBIS program.
- Maintain ongoing contact with each Site Coordinator and team.
- Attend weekly meetings to assist with implementation as needed.
- Review data to inform and guide PBIS decision-making.
- Serve as a resource and support to staff in planning support for students with behavior challenges.
- Develop and implement effective communication strategies and behavior support techniques in a multi-tiered system of support.
- Network with local community, state, and federal agencies to identify additional resources and support staff, students, and families.
- Communicate with families as needed to facilitate success for students in the program.
- Clear evidence of sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of the community, staff, students, and external relations.
- Travel to school age sites required weekly, within a 5-mile radius of the Greater Lowell YMCA.
- Other duties as assigned.

Requirements - Minimum 21 years of age
- Complete Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) and Sexual Offender Registration Information (SORI) check
- Up-to-date immunization record and health history
- Current First Aid, CPR and AED certification or able to obtain after hire
- College-level coursework or professional childcare/education experience
- Prior leadership experience preferred.
- Skills and experience in child development, behavior management strategies and practices
- Enthusiastic, organized, dedicated.
