Job description

Cobb EMC has an exciting opportunity for a Metering Services & Testing Technician t o provide comprehensive training, testing, and programming in all aspects of metering. Assist in daily operations of Metering Services office, shop, and fieldwork. To install, test, and troubleshoot capacitor bank SEL or remote disconnect controls.

 

Schedule: 6:30am-5:00pm (4-10 hour shifts per week, weekends off)

Major Responsibilities:

NOTE: The following are major responsibilities of this position. The basic requirement of every position is to perform all tasks as assigned by the reporting authority.

 

Design, Programming, Installation, Testing, Troubleshooting, Maintenance, and Calibration

Training

Minimum Qualifications:

 

Vocational/Technical school diploma in electronics, electrical engineering technology, or related field; or a combination of relevant education & equivalent work experience.

Minimum two (2) years of experience as a Metering Services & Testing Technician Sr or equivalent with the installation, testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electric utility metering equipment, or control systems (e.g. capacitor banks, and metering)

Expert working knowledge of state-of-the-art electrical meters and equipment.

Experience with Sensus FlexNet program.

Knowledge of all local, state, and national codes and regulations regarding meter installation and instrument metering

Successfully complete and pass hands on skills demonstration and written knowledge assessment.

SKILLS:

Demonstrated interpersonal and oral communication skills to effectively interact with employees and the public.

Ability to reason analytically and relate theoretical concepts to actual needs.

Adaptability to changing technical conditions, work environment, and equipmen.t

Proficiency with personal computers

Proficiency with Power Point, Excel, Word, Outlook, L+G 1132, Aclara, Honeywell, Sensus Flexnet, and Smartsheet programs.

Possess valid Georgia driver's license.
