Hydraulic Engineer Technician (TT2)

$52,620 – $70,800 Annually
Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is currently seeking to fill a non-permanent entry level engineering technician position located in Olympia, WA with the flexibility of teleworking within Washington State for up to 12 months working fulltime during the summer months and part time the rest of the year. This Hydraulic Engineer Technician provides enrolled college students or recent college graduates with working exposure to the field of hydraulic engineering. In this role, you will primarily work with the Headquarters Stormwater Unit and coordinate with Region Hydraulic Engineers to add Best Management Practices (BMPs) to the Stormwater As-Built and Specifications (SWABS) application from completed hydraulic reports. This position will also assist in a variety of hydraulic engineering activities by performing semi-skilled technical level engineering tasks under direct guidance and mentorship from the managers in the Stormwater, Fish Passage, Hydraulics, and Hydrology programs. These exciting tasks will provide an opportunity to gain valuable and hands on experience in the practical application of engineering procedures, concepts, and techniques in an on-the-job environment. Our top candidates must possess excellent time management and self-motivation skills as this position will be required to independently complete tasks, plan project tasks, and meet deadlines.
