TIME FRAME: ALL JAZZ FESTIVAL EVENT DAYS
April 25 to May 5th, 2024
Pre-Production Meeting: 4/24
POSITION SUMMARY:
This individual will be responsible for both the pickup and receipt of large equipment shipments.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Extensive knowledge and experience with band gear are essential for this role.
- The position involves significant lifting. Crew members should anticipate lifting items weighing between 75 to 80 lbs. frequently.
- Continuous radio communication with the Special Forces coordinator and other Special Forces crew members is a key aspect of the job.
- Special Forces operates within a fast-paced work environment with long hours on festival days. Crew members typically begin as early as 6:30 am and conclude their duties at 9:30 pm during festival days.
- Driving is a requirement. The staff member must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a good driving record.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Using the Absentee Request Form, it is the responsibility of each employee and their supervisor to accurately report their absenteeism to the HR Office.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive issues.
- Must attend and complete any required training.
- Any document, computer program, design or other intellectual property created for the Jazz Festival belongs to the Jazz Festival and must be given to the Festival through your supervisor or department head at the end of each production year, or upon request.
- Must complete all required Feedback Forms and Final reports.

Spread out over two long weekends in late April and early May, Jazz Fest takes place at the New Orleans Fair Grounds Race Track, located just minutes from the French Quarter.
