Job description

Preble Street’s work in providing critical services to people in our community experiencing homelessness, hunger, and poverty, and in advocating for long-term solutions to these problems, relies on funding from various sources, including public grants. As a significant component of Preble Street’s funding, public grants are essential to achieving our mission. The team performing, coordinating, and managing the complex administrative and financial requirements of public grants work together to ensure our ability to access these important resources to fund our work.

The Assistant Director of Public Grants will assist and work with the Senior Director and other staff to perform, coordinate, and manage all tasks, processes, and systems required for successful application, implementation, reporting, and close out of public grants.

Qualifications

This position requires skills in administrative project management; proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office products (with an emphasis on Excel); budget development skills; and a strong compliance orientation, with the ability to manage grant compliance in accordance with applicable requirements and experience with federal and state grants preferred.

Additional qualifications for this position include a bachelor’s degree with two or more years’ experience in grant accounting, nonprofit accounting, and/or nonprofit financial management, or a comparable combination of education, training, and work experience.
